Most of the morning routines of people are to wake up, check their phone, and immediately get hits of dopamine from likes, comments, or whatever the case may be on their social media.
Before the average person has a cup of coffee or breakfast, they’ve already gotten a spike of dopamine and have deregulated their nervous system. The body then presumes that to regulate the nervous system, you need more dopamine, meaning higher screen times. It is instant gratification on steroids.
It would be incorrect to assume the digital world is not “reality,” but it is the case that participating in the physical world is what we human beings were made for. How the collective consciousness will expand beyond this point remains to be seen.

According to a study from Comparitech (https://www.comparitech.com/tv-streaming/screen-time-statistics/) it is reported that the average American spends 6.4 hours per day on a screen.

Average social media time for an American: 2.09 hours per day
This means that if we assume the average American gets 8 hours of sleep, then they are spending 40% of their conscious time per day on a screen.
But why is it important to know about screen time? It’s not to simply shock you into realizing how much time people spend on their screens. It’s to give you a glimpse at how social interactions will be forever changing going forward. We don’t yet know the full implications that spending this much time on our screens will have on our psychophysiology.
The Digital World Is Escapism From The Physical World
Ever noticed how the digital world and social media often is just a fake portrayal of what is actually going on behind the scenes? At this point it is almost as if everyone knows most of social media is fake, but they continue to act like it isn’t anyway.
Unlike the physical world, everyone can “own” their personal space in the digital world. They can delete people they don’t want to be talking to or have more elusive control over their environment. The physical world is full of uncertainty, and you have to acknowledge the space that others have, whether you like it or not.

It is highly probable that in the near future that social media influencers will be used or bribed to introduce a social credit score. This means it is the responsibility of the influencers to have the proper spiritual discernment. Social media influencers could be influenced by the elites to polorize the “opposing arguments” which would only enhance the echo chambers even more than they already are.
We already see and have seen algorithm manipulation on a multitude of social media platforms with the initiation of shadow banning and full account suspension. There is an argument that can be made for its justification, however, the first step to getting rid of free speech is claiming that some people can say some things and others cannot. This would ultimately create a social-technocracy.
As for the AI-generated content and deepfakes, for anyone who isn’t aware, AI-generated content is slowly getting to the point that it can do anything. Deepfakes can allow people to create a multitude of variations of themselves, and I suspect there will be a rise of deepfake influencers which will dominate the digital space in the late 2020s or early 2030s. How people will be able to distinguish between AI-generated content or deepfakes and reality will gradually become more and more difficult.
