5 Things To Know About Individuation

Individuation psychology | Childlike Wonder | Inner Child Healing | Meditation

Processing and stabilizing a personality is one of the most meaningful things you can do - it is a process in Jungian psychology known as Self-Realization and Individuation. Below are 5 things to know about when you are learning how to individuate yourself from society.

1) Develop a Child-Like Wonder

As you grow and mature, sometimes you lose sight of who you were in your past and that maturity turns into complacency. When you are complacent, it means that you either avoiding asking yourself questions or are simply not asking yourself questions like "who am I?" or "what am I here to do?" or "how can I strive to become more of who I am today than I was yesterday?" Retaining that child-like wonder and being willing to ask yourself these questions is a great first step in cultivating a healthy ego on your individuation journey.

2) Develop A Mindset Of Invincibility

Physical exercise and lifestyle diet can (and will) determine how you can influence your feelings on how gracefully you can handle stress. Developing your competence and self-discipline basic desires like food, sensuality, style, and pleasure will allow you to see that you are capable of building a resistance to such worldly things. The more resistance you build to worldly things, the greater your strength will be internally.

3) Trust Your Instincts and Intuition

A variety of meditation techniques will help you calm your mind so that you can discern fear from excitement, lust from love, hunger from gluttony, etc. Remember whenever you feel that something is "off" it probably is. Your job is to vet through your emotions and holding space for those around you through divergent and convergent thinking.

4) Create, create, create

Whether you want to learn a new skill like playing an instrument or take on a new hobby like drawing, creating anything can build new pathways in your brain and allows you to have a vessel or an outlet for your emotions. Creativity is going to help you in all aspects of your life including solving problems in your business, relationships, or coming up with new ways to have a fun time with people.

5) Rekindle Your Relationship With The Inner Father and Inner Mother

Perhaps you had a healthy childhood raised in a safe and loving environment, or perhaps you had rough childhood raised in chaotic circumstances. Either way, as an individual, it is your duty to reestablish your relationship with your inner mother and father by reconnecting with your inner child and making sure you are there for you by addressing your wants, needs, and standards.
